This may mean obtaining private school placement at the public school district’s expense, or developing or enforcing an Individualized Education Program (IEP) in the child’s home district. The compensation to which a family is entitled may include attorneys’ fees, an educational trust fund, reimbursement for past educational expenses and tuition for appropriate private school placements.
