John Bogan, Associate

John Bogan is committed to providing excellent legal representation for children, young adults and their families. His practice at Frankel & Kershenbaum includes Special Education Law, Juvenile Justice, School Discipline, Higher Education Student Rights, Catastrophic Injuries Involving Children, and protecting the Constitutional Rights of Children.  He fights to ensure that children with special needs receive the education services they are entitled to under federal and state law.  A graduate of Villanova University School of Law, John is licensed to practice law in Pennsylvania and New Jersey.  He is single and lives in Conshohocken.

As a law student, John clerked for the Delaware Attorney General's Office in the Family and Criminal Divisions.  In that capacity, he assisted with juvenile arraignments and researched a variety of juvenile law and criminal law issues.  John also worked as a Certified Legal Intern at the Delaware County District Attorney's Office, where he gained practical litigation experience by handling preliminary hearings for the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania at the District Court level.  Those experiences provided John with valuable insight into the juvenile justice and criminal justice systems.

After graduating from law school, John served as a law clerk at a general practice firm in Media, PA, where he worked primarily on family law, criminal law, personal injury, and workers compensation matters.  John discovered his passion for education law after joining Frankel & Kershenbaum through Villanova Law School's Attorney Apprenticeship Program.  As an Associate at Frankel & Kershenbaum, John represents families and children in negotiations with school districts, at IEP meetings, at school disciplinary proceedings, and at Due Process hearings.  John also defends students who have been charged with criminal offenses and referred to the juvenile justice system as a result of school-related incidents.  Finally, in the area of higher education, John represents college and graduate students who are facing disciplinary action, have been discriminated against because of their disabilities, or have had their Constitutional rights violated.
