With both personal and professional ties to the special education world, Kristy Asral submerged herself in educating and advocating for children with special needs as a young teenager and never looked back. With years of experience providing educational and behavioral support to families of children with special needs, Kristy has developed hundreds of IEPs and behavioral plans for preschool aged children in early intervention up to high school children transitioning to college. With experience in every avenue of special education including the home, school and legal environments, Kristy has worked with children with many types of exceptionalities including Prader Willis Syndrome, Down Syndrome, Angelman Syndrome, Autism, Dyslexia, Mental Health Issues and ADHD.
As a special education consultant and advocate, Kristy helps parents understand what their child’s needs are and walks them through the process of advocating for their needs in the school system. She supports parents and students by attending IEP meetings, providing classroom observations, mediations, team meetings and finding community resources.
As a behavioral consultant, Kristy helps identify a child’s behavioral needs and creates simple, yet effective plans to address a child’s needs in the most positive way possible. Kristy helps educators and parents collaborate with the social and behavioral needs of the students and helps promote inclusive practices in the school and community settings.
Kristy has supported hundreds of families throughout Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Virginia, Maryland and Washington D.C. in their efforts to advocate for their child’s needs. Kristy also has given many lectures on navigating the special education system and parent training on behavior. Kristy resides in Doylestown, PA with her husband and three young children.
