    Princess Diaz-Bîrca

    Princess is a dedicated civil rights attorney, focused on education law and the intersection of juvenile law and special education. With a strong commitment to advocacy, she brings a unique background that combines legal expertise with a passion for social justice. Prior to law school, Princess served in the Peace Corps in Moldova, where she gained invaluable insights into community dynamics and human rights issues.

    During her time in law school, Princess gained practical experience through internships with notable organizations, including the ACLU of Massachusetts, the Juvenile Law Center, the Innocence Project, and the Louisiana Center for Children’s Rights.

    Princess graduated from law school in 2023 and started in private practice with Berney & Sang. At Berney & Sang, Princess strove to deconstruct the cradle-to-prison pipeline and dismantle barriers to education with a particular interest in work at the intersection of juvenile law and special education.

    Princess’s practice at Raffaele Law includes: 

    • Ensuring that students with disabilities in elementary school through high school receive appropriate accommodations and specially-designed instruction;
    • Ensuring that students in higher education receive reasonable accommodations;
    • Defending students, particularly students with disabilities, facing allegations of school discipline violations;
    • Defending students, particularly students with disabilities, facing allegations of truancy;
    • Counseling families on the best responses to allegations of misbehavior or of delinquency;
    • Vindicating the rights and interests of students facing discrimination based on their membership in protected classes;
    • Advising students, particularly students with disabilities, in Title IX proceedings;
    • Appellate litigation.
